Jeffery D. Gow, Chairman (WCC & NB), Bellevue, Washington – Mr. Gow is the CEO, and largest shareholder, of Shelter Holdings, a private investment company in the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Gow was employed by Polygon Northwest Company for 30 years and CEO since 1988 until its sale in 2014. Mr. Gow owns and manages an income property portfolio of apartment and office projects located in the Pacific Northwest, as well as equity interests in other industries, including technology and aerospace. Mr. Gow attended the University of British Columbia from 1976 to 1980, where he studied history.
William K. Ilett, Director (WCC & NB), Boise, Idaho – Mr. Ilett, a certified public accountant, has been involved in equipment lease financing for more than 40 years, and is currently (since 1982 ), the President and CEO, TransCorp, Inc., Boise, Idaho, a privately-held equipment finance leasing company that leases primarily transportation equipment. Mr. Ilett invests in commercial and residential real estate throughout southern Idaho, performs consulting work and speaks at seminars on transportation financing issues. Mr. Ilett graduated from Boise State University in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Mr. Ilett was a licensed certified public accountant for many years and is now inactive. Mr. Ilett was the Founder of the Idaho Stampede professional basketball team in Boise, Idaho.
Gary G. Michael, Director (WCC & NB), Boise, Idaho – Mr. Michael has a long record of corporate leadership and community service. Gary was the Chairman and CEO of Albertson’s Inc., retiring in 2001. He has also served on the boards of Questar Corp., Boise Cascade Corp., Office Max, Inc., The Clorox Co., Idacorp/Idaho Power Co., Graham Packaging Corp., and The Federal Reserve Bank of SF. He still serves on the boards of Bodega Latina Corp., The J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation and Caesar’s Entertainment. Gary also has a history of giving back to his community and serving on a variety of non-profit boards and committees. Gary is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and served as the President of the University in 2003 – 2004
John W. Mitchell, Director (WCC & NB), Lake Oswego, Oregon – Mr. Mitchell has been an economist for more than 40 years. He was a Professor of Economics at Boise State University, and later served as Chief Economist and Western Regional Economist for U.S. Bancorp. Mr. Mitchell received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Williams College in 1966, and a master’s degree in economics and a doctorate degree in economics in 1970, both from the University of Oregon. Mr. Mitchell is currently a principal at M&H Economic Consultants, Lake Oswego, Oregon, where he publishes and speaks on economic matters. He is a Trustee for the Tax Free Trust of Oregon, a public mutual fund, and a Director of Oregon Mutual Insurance Company.
Robert A. Underhill, Director (WCC), Seattle, Washington – Mr. Underhill brings both an intimate knowledge of our Northwest markets and a high level of expertise in accounting, tax and risk management. Bob is the principal of Robert A. Underhill PC a professional services firm specializing in tax and wealth planning. A licensed CPA and Attorney, he graduated from The University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Juris Doctor. Bob is a past president of the Washington Society of CPAs, and a board member of the University of Washington Foundation, the Chair of the University of Washington Planned Giving Committee and serves on the board of the Theo Chocolate, Inc.
Steven D. Wasson, Vice Chairman (WCC & NB), President and Chief Executive Officer (WCC), Lake Oswego, Oregon – Mr. Wasson has over 30 years in banking with U.S. Bank, Riverside National Bank and Bank of America and its predecessor banks. In his last two positions with U.S. Bank, he was Executive Vice President and Manager of Business Banking with over $6 billion in assets and 1,000 employees and Executive Vice President and Manager of Commercial Real Estate with over $3 billion in assets and 350 employees. Mr. Wasson was a director, Executive Vice President and the Chief Credit Officer of Oregon Bank, and the Chief Administrative Officer and the Chief Credit Officer of Riverside National Bank. From 2001 through 2007, Mr. Wasson was engaged in private equity investing in community banks. Mr. Wasson completed the University of Washington’s Pacific Coast Banking School in 1984, and completed the Stanford Financial Management Program in 1988.
Jamie Shulman, Director (WCC & NB), President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Bank, Lake Oswego, Oregon – Mr. Shulman brings over 22 years of experience in the banking industry to his role, including leadership positions at U.S. Bank, BBVA Compass, and now, Northwest Bank. At U.S. Bank he served in a variety of retail and small business banking leadership roles, including Small Business Regional Manager for Arizona and Nevada. At BBVA Compass he served as a Commercial Banking Team Leader and Manager of the West Dealer Commercial Services. Jamie has been with Northwest Bank since 2013, previously as President, Oregon Division, and then as President and Chief Operating Officer. A graduate of the University of Denver, he is also actively involved in the community, serving on boards and committees including the Portland Children’s Museum, Boys & Girls Aid, the Oregon Museum of Science (OMSI), Arlington Club, and the Portland Jewish Federation.
